Welcome to Newart Script Reference!

This reference will help you to understand basic art concepts and discover magic world of Newart expressionism. It's mainly targeted for creative people and paint artists who want to make their own contribution to Newart culture and I'm very glad that you're reading these words as this gives me a hope that the virtual museum of Newart will grow further.

Newart expressionism is an abstract art that was built on mathematical foundation. It exists on the boundary between math and pure art and that's why it borrowed some terminology from academic science. Though it was originated in a campus, it's free from all that highbrow stuff. You don't have to have a degree in math to start out.

Newart paintings ain't just static pictures nor are fixed sized. In contrast they animate developing from a clear canvas and accommodate to the monitor screen resolution so you can see it with the best possible quality.

This screen saver is a virtual museum of Newart that holds the paintings collection and has various presentation options. It's free and requires no installation. As the collection grows new versions of the museum are issued. Normally it happens each month.

This reference conforms to level #1 of "Newart Comprehensiveness" which is result of the most recent evolution circle. This level states a simple language that describes a painting. Normally painters use brush and pallet working at an easel. Newart designers are generation of new era. They create a real eternal art scripting word by word while sitting at a computer. Their artifacts will never die, they will live in the eternity being a pure virtual substance.

As for the language, it's simple enough and based on three foundation concepts listed below. It's case insensitive but has a strict syntax. Syntax violation causes an error and no paint occurs.

Passport of Painting
Passport is a record each piece of art must have. It holds unique catalog number, title, derivation info and the author notes (if any). It also may define the canvas geometry, as an example proportions of the frame.
Paint Scenario
It is a central point of a script and describes the hierarchy of painting loops. Each node in this hierarchy is responsible for a certain detail and all together they constitute the painting. The scenario can be either finite or may go on perpetually.
Art of Scening
Scening defines how the painting is presented. It's combined from various visual effects from relatively simple ones (as shade or screening) to more complex (as flash). Scening is an option. When it's present, it's performed simultaneously with main paint scenario.
